Eat. Sleep. Jump !
False Start !

So early this morning I gave into my eagerness and I started my summer training (haha only a day early). It was a short running workout that consisted of 5 x 150m, 3-5 minute recovery. Not that bad I thought going into it.. just a little sprinting workout to get the body up and awake. In all honesty it was truly not that bad. It was in my preparation that I made my mistake.

I woke up early this morning (around 6:30) and started my daily routine. Around 7 I made my breakfast (pictured bellow) and was out of the house at 7:30. I decided to do this workout on a road near my house instead of the track. This road had a sidewalk and was part of a fairly new neighborhood so most of the houses were empty and I would not be bothering anyone my using it. After warming up and stretching I felt good, real good. I then realized how much I missed the pre-workout ready feeling. I then took my place at the ‘starting line’ (which I had mapped out the night before online).

After finishing the first one, I was dead. Haha dead was an understatement. It got me thinking ‘what have I gotten myself into’ and ‘maybe I didn’t warm up enough?’. But I sucked it up and jogged until it was time for the second rep. That was the easiest one. The hardest by far was the 4th. The first 3 had kicked my butt and I was hanging by a thread. This is the point at which my breakfast decided it wanted to come up and of course I worked through the nausea (which only made it worse). The last one was aided by my dad showing up on the bike (so of course I had to show off how fast I was :-)).

By the end of the workout I was sprawled out on the concrete. I felt faint and sick to my stomach. I was so grateful there was no one on the street who could see me through their window and If there was someone chances are they were fast asleep. It took me a good ten minutes to crawl/ walk back to my house and back into my bed. Still feeling  woozy I drank some ginger tea (wowza does that stuff work wonders!).

So first workout of the summer is done! Although tomorrows workout is still in the works i’m thinking hit the gym, maybe some more sprints, and then yoga class at 6. Wish me Luck :-)

Love Always
